What courses can I do after this?
After this course you will be advised to progress to Level 3 Hair Media Make Up program which would prepare you for a career in Make Up or as senior stylist.
The Level 2 qualification will qualify you to work as a junior stylist or an assisting make-up artist.

Here at The College we have a reputation for offering excellent skills training. Our lecturers are professionals in their chosen fields, with sound experience, knowledge and expertise.
Working in our public salons and the makeup studio you will gain valuable experience in offering a professional salon service, including customer care, client consultation and professional treatments, in a realistic working environment.
What do I need to apply
To do this course you should have...
You will require a minimum of 4 GCSEs including English and maths grades 9-3 (formerly A*-D) and ideally also including a science grade. Alternatively successful completion of a relevant Level 1 vocational relevant qualification and have achieved a Level 1 Functional Skill in English and maths.
What about work experience?
Work Experience will likely take place at local salons, and be one day a week, plus a 2 week block placement.

Course content
Course Content
The course consists of Mandatory and Optional units.
For students progressing from school, it would be advisable to choose cutting and colouring units as part of the options.
Mandatory Units
- Follow Health and Safety practice in the salon
- Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
- Shampoo & condition hair and scalp
- Apply make-up
- The art of photographic make-up
- The art of dressing hair
- Create an image based on a theme within the hair and beauty sector
You will also study functional skills/GCSE, English and mathematics, during your programme
