The Bournemouth & Poole College has launched a new worldwide distributor training partnership with Sunseeker International, drawing global attention to Poole. From December 2016 onwards, the College will host an annual four day technical training course which is open to all Sunseeker International distributor service technicians.

Bournemouth & Poole College apprentice George Smith has excelled in the national APSE Apprenticeship awards. He was nominated for the Mechanical and Electrical Apprentice of the Year award by his employer Bournemouth Borough Council, and was awarded the accolade at a special ceremony in Leeds.

A graduate of The Bournemouth & Poole College’s Specialised Chef Scholarship is the first to be awarded a Michelin Star, recognised globally as an Oscar of the culinary world. Trinity restaurant, a longstanding neighbourhood favourite based in the heart of Clapham Old Town and headed up by chef, restaurateur and Bournemouth & Poole Alumni, Adam Byatt, has been awarded a coveted Michelin star just one month shy of its 10th anniversary.

Ardent Theatre Company, set up by Creative Directors Andrew Muir and Mark Sands, has taken on 8 talented students to become The Ardent 8. This ensemble of actors will attend workshops led by professionals and have a brand new play written for them by Andrew himself, who is a leading playwright and Part-Time writer in residence for The College. The Ardent 8 will then perform in London to an audience including key people from the industry. The project is designed to give these former students access to a key location for the profession and to build their skills.
