Students taking The Bournemouth & Poole College Decorating Skills course have a new labour saving and safety device thanks to the generosity of a Ringwood based company, which has kindly donated Betsy Paint Mates to the college.

The Betsy Paint Mate tool has really impressed course leader Scott Oliver, a man with years of experience in paint techniques and labour saving devices.

The Betsy straps securely around the waist of the painter and easily takes the weight of a sizeable pot of paint, leaving both hands free to climb a ladder and apply a coat of paint

Four trainee welders at The Bournemouth & Poole College have created a unique piece of art to inspire and motivate others to learn the trade.

The trainees, all apprentices at one of the UK's leading manufacturers of industrial heat exchangers Heatric, are also part of a three year training programme at the college.

Ambitious computer graphics course student Josh Turner has cause for a double celebration.

Not only is he about to start a year’s work experience with a leading concept design company, but some of his work is about to be shown on American TV.

As part of his CGI architectural visualisation course at The Bournemouth & Poole College, Josh created computer model images of the Milwaukee Art Museum, an eye catching and iconic structure which includes a stunning brise soleil with a wing span of more than 200ft.

The future’s bright for six newly qualified boat building apprentices who this month received their certificates at the Southampton International Boat Show.

The super six have spent four years training both on the job at Sunseeker's legendary Poole factory and studying on day release at The Bournemouth & Poole College, which has its own outstanding marine engineering department.

Mr Phil Popham, CEO of Sunseeker International, presented Calum Underwood, Bradley Cronk, Sam Gaze, Dan Lovett, Danny Austin and Lewis Harrison with their Certificates of Completion.
