Most of your training will be directly linked to the career you have chosen, gaining practical experience in the workplace, backed up by attendance at college one day a week.

An Apprenticeship in Boat Building will develop your employability skills and give you valuable experience in the Marine industry. You will be working in a workshop environment where your duties could encompass many areas of work such as learning about composites and wood trades, however you will specialise in one of these in your third year Your exact duties will depend upon your employer.

Where possible staff from College Work Based Learning will assist in finding you an employer and a place of work (although students who are already employed are welcome to apply if sponsored by their employer).

Your offer of Apprenticeship training will be dependent upon work placements being available.
