What do I need to apply
To do this course you should have...
You will require a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C including English, maths and double Science grades 9-4 (formerly A*-C).
Alternatively successful completion of a relevant Level 2 qualification and have achieved a Level 2 Functional Skill in English and maths.
What about work experience?
You will complete work experience during each year on the course.
This will build your skillset and give evidence that you can apply your knowledge in a workplace setting. This will make you standout to employers.

If you are not from an English Language speaking country, you will need to have UKVI IELTS 5.5. Course content
Course Content
The National Diploma is an 13 unit course, made up of 7 core units and 7 specialist units and is equivalent to 3 A Levels.
The 7 core units include:
- Principles and Applications of Science I and II
- Practical Scientific Procedures and Techniques
- Scientific Investigation Skills
- Laboratory Techniques and their Application
- Contemporary Issues in Science
- Investigative Projects
The specialist units can include:
- Practical Chemical Analysis
- Physiology of Human Body Systems
- Forensic Evidence Collection and Analysis
- Microbiology and Microbiological Techniques
- Organic Chemistry
- Genetics and Genetic Engineering
- Core Maths - optional
It is expected that trips and visiting speakers will fulfil most of your direct experience with the Forensic Industry.
