What courses can I do after this?
On successful completion students can apply for QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills Status) which is equivalent to QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) in a school setting.
Progression to a full a BA (Hons) in Education through a number of universities is possible on successful completion of the course.
What do I need to apply
To do this course you should have...
- You should hold an appropriate qualification of at least National Qualifications Framework (NQF) level 3 in the subject area in which you are teaching or wish to teach.
- You will be required to demonstrate achievement at NQF level 2 in English/literacy/communication and will have achieved or be working towards achievement of NQF level 2 in mathematics/numeracy
- You will need a minimum of 100 hours teaching over the life of the course

Course content
Course Content
Students who successfully complete this qualification will gain a further knowledge on aspects of planning, delivering and assessing inclusive teaching and learning. Whilst doing this, students will learn about theories and principles in education and training and demonstrate them in their practice. Student will also carry out research into professionalism in education and training and consider their impact on their role as a fully qualified teacher.
