What courses can I do after this?
Students will examine the many different aspects of performance and will be encouraged to think about their progression into further training and employment. You may be able to progress to the PEARSON Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts or Dance or Production.
What jobs can I get?
This course could be your first step to television, film or theatre work, be it either performance related or technical. Employment within the industry not only depends on talent, but also a sense of determination to succeed. As competition for acting jobs can be extremely fierce you might consider working voluntarily for a local theatre, for example, in order to gain some valuable experience and make important contacts.
What do I need to apply
To do this course you should have...
You will require a minimum of 4 GCSEs including English and maths grades 9-3 (formerly A*-D) and science for some programmes. Alternatively successful completion of a relevant Level 1 qualification and have achieved a Level 1 Functional Skill in English and maths.

Course content
Course Content
The aim of this course is for you to experience different performance styles, to try out new ideas and gain an understanding of the performing arts industry.
Projects are assessed regularly throughout the course, based largely on practical assignments and perfomances, with some written exercises and evaluations.

More about the course
You will have the opportunity to perform in the Jellicoe Theatre which is a fully functioning venue. We produce 22+ shows per year with a variety of shows including Musicals, Dance Shows, Classical and Contemporary Plays, all of which you will attend as part of your course.
Equivalent to 1 A-Level and carry the same UCAS points for HE entry.
Provide education and training for performing arts employees.
Provide performing arts employee’s opportunities to achieve a nationally recognised vocationally specific Qualification.
