On Wednesday 7th June, the directorate of Construction invited in staff, employers, sponsors and parents to celebrate the achievements and improvements of our Construction students over this academic year. The Construction Skills Awards Event was a fantastic ceremony to showcase the high calibre of our bricklaying, plumbing, plastering, electrical and wood occupation students and apprentices.
Everyone enjoyed a beautiful sunny afternoon and delicious BBQ based at our North Road Campus ‘Quad.’
Des Rands, Director of Learning for Construction Skills, Building Services & Built Environment hosted the ceremony:
“These awards are a great opportunity to celebrate our students coming through as the next generation of tradespeople. It’s been an absolute pleasure to be involved in these celebrations."
Kai Benning, winner of the Most Improved Apprentice (Electrical), shared his thoughts about winning an award: “Thanks to all my tutors for voting for me. I appreciate all of their support in finding me an employer and helping me succeed in my current role.”
Bournemouth & Poole College is exceptionally proud of our students and their continued successes!
A special thankyou to Greendale Construction Ltd, MSS Tools, Dorset Construction Training Forum Ltd, Selco Builders, Sydenhams Ltd, J&Bs Plumbing & Heating and Yesss Electricial for supporting the event by donating awards and prizes.
