What the course leads to
What courses can I do after this?
Upon successful completion of this course, progression is to the Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies. Progression, however, is not automatic and will be dependent on recommendation from your tutor, (taking into consideration learning progression, attendance and CPCAB guidelines).
What do I need to apply
To do this course you should have...
You must be at least 19 years of age and you will be asked to:-
Attend a group interview where you will be given information about the course and have the opportunity to ask questions.
CPCAB Guidelines mean the following will be taken into account:
Applicants must have a suitable level of literacy in English, for students who use English as a second language evidence of IELTS of 5.5 is needed.
The College take the health, safety and well being of students very seriously. If you have recently experienced a significant life event (e.g. bereavement, divorce, arrest, court proceedings, etc.), are currently suffering or recovering from a serious medical condition, are being treated for mental health problems or if you are in recovery from addiction and are less than two years clean and dry you must discuss this with the tutors before applying for the course. Failure to do so would be a breach of integrity and could prevent successful completion of the course.
You need to be aware that the course involves experiential elements which will involve some personal disclosure and associated personal development activities.
Where applicable, we would advise applicants against joining the same training group as their partner.
