The Bournemouth & Poole College excels in higher education review

Staff at The Bournemouth & Poole College are celebrating after receiving positive feedback following a higher education review.

The QAA conducts quality assessment reviews once every five years at all higher education providers across the UK.  The QAA carry out inspections to ensure providers meet the regulatory academic standards and measure the students learning outcomes and the overall academic experience.

When students at the college spoke to the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) review team they said that they valued The College’s links with more than 2,000 local businesses, as well as the academic and pastoral support that they receive. This information was then highlighted in the report.

Antony Wright, director of learning, higher education, digital and business at The Bournemouth & Poole College, said: ‘‘This is an excellent outcome for The College, following these results from the report we are now officially an established provider of higher education. This is due to the high standard of our higher education courses and the commitment demonstrated by both our lecturers and students to their education.’’

The College works in partnership with local businesses to develop and update its courses to ensure students are confident in the knowledge that they are enrolling onto a course which provides the experience and expertise employers are looking for.

For more than 20 years, The Bournemouth & Poole College has been a higher education provider and currently offers 10 full-time and 10 part-time courses across 14 subject areas. All higher education courses are validated by leading universities including The Arts University Bournemouth and Bournemouth University.

Antony Wright added: ‘‘We are thrilled to announce that the QAA review’s findings state that The Bournemouth and Poole College’s academic standards continue to be reliable and meet the UK’s requirements for higher education. The quality of student academic experience was also praised for meeting the baseline regulatory requirements of a provider.’’
